I’m Franklin. It’s Great to Meet You!

I’m a UX Research and Designer currently based in Florida. I am a teacher who is transitioning into the design field. I have done nonprofit work, and being steeped in instructional design I have created several programs for my school.

Inspired to Succeed

I had never heard of UX Design before when a fellow teacher explained the process to me. I was instantly hooked on the idea of combining creative and analytical thinking. I spent six months learning about UX/UI research and design and design theory while also teaching high school English, Creative Writing, and Journalism during a pandemic school year.

Driven by Curiosity

I have always been a curious person, particularly about systems and people. I like how things interact, and pursue new ways of interacting to provide a more fulfilling experience for the users. UX Design allowed me to look at both those topics and how they affect each other.

Validation of Choice

One of my high points is my group’s final project being entered into a design contest. While we did not win, the feedback from the judges was enough for me to know I was on the right track for my career.

Judge Comment:"Brilliant idea and amazing UI/UX. I think that the system may need a 'joyride' tutorial for new teachers - simply because there seems to be so much functionality but overall the UI felt intuitive. Beautiful job with the pitch - very engaging."

Dedicated to Improving

I always want to be better today than I was yesterday. For that reason I have continued my training with design challenges, personal projects, and professional development.

Let’s Talk!

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
